Marketing Agency in Hampshire
Morph is a marketing agency working with businesses and organisations across Hampshire — from Portsmouth and Southampton to Winchester, Basingstoke and the market towns in between. We have been doing it for eighteen years from an office in Southsea.
What separates us from most marketing agencies in Hampshire is who does the work. Rachel and Jamie O'Reilly are both Chartered Marketers and Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and they run every account personally. You will not be handed to an account executive after the pitch, because there isn't one.
That suits a particular kind of client: organisations big enough to need proper marketing, small enough that the person in charge wants to speak to the person doing it.
Why Hampshire businesses work with us
Two directors, no handover
The people who win your business are the people who run it. Eighteen years in, that has not changed, and it is the single thing clients mention most often when they tell us why they stayed.
Chartered, not self-appointed
Marketing is an unregulated industry and anybody can call themselves an agency. Chartered Marketer status requires assessed experience and continuing professional development, and both our directors hold it alongside Fellowship of the CIM.
Strategy first, tactics second
We start with what the business is trying to achieve, not with which channel is fashionable. Sometimes that means a campaign. Sometimes it means telling a client their website is fine and the problem is their pricing.
We live here
We know the Hampshire business landscape because we are part of it — the networks, the people, the press, the sponsorship opportunities and which local publications will actually run a story. Where to hike on the Southdowns way with our team. That is not something an agency in London can buy.
What we do for Hampshire clients
We work as a full marketing department for some clients and on single projects for others. The services below can be combined or taken on their own.
seo
Technical audits, local search, content strategy and the reporting that shows whether any of it worked.
web design
WordPress sites built to be found, not just admired.
pr + communications
Press coverage, crisis handling, community partnerships and the relationships behind them.
social media
Strategy, content and community, run by people who understand the business behind the account.
branding
Identity, positioning and the guidelines that stop it drifting.
business mentoring
One-to-one support for owners and leaders.
market research
Market sizing, competitor analysis, customer research and feasibility studies.
business consultancy
Growth strategy, structure, proposition and board-level support.
Where we work across Hampshire
portsmouth + southsea
Our home city and where most of our hospitality, leisure and property clients sit. We know the venues, the press and the seasonal rhythms of a city that empties and fills with the academic year.
southampton
Marine, logistics, education and a very different retail economy to Portsmouth despite being twenty miles away. Agencies that treat the two cities as one market get it wrong.
winchester + the meon valley
Professional services, tourism and independent retail, with an audience that responds to craft and credibility rather than discounting.
basingstoke + the north
Manufacturing, engineering and business parks, often selling nationally from a Hampshire base. Much of our B2B and technical marketing work sits here.
fareham, gosport + havant
The industrial and light-manufacturing belt along the harbour, where we do a good deal of specification-led marketing for engineering firms.
and the isle of wight
Technically not Hampshire, but close enough that we work there regularly and know the ferry timetable better than we would like.
Common questions
How much does a marketing agency cost?
Retainers start from a set number of days a month and are quoted once we understand what you need. Projects are quoted as a fixed fee. We will tell you if we think your budget is better spent elsewhere.
Do you only work with Hampshire businesses?
No. Most of our clients are in Hampshire and the South, but we work nationally and always have. Being local helps; it isn't a requirement.
Can we start with one project rather than a retainer?
Yes, and plenty of clients do. A website, a campaign or a piece of research is a sensible way to find out whether we work well together.
Who will actually do the work?
Rachel or Jamie, and usually both. That is the whole point of us.
