Does my website need an SSL certificate?

The answer to this question is yes! Whatever kind of website you have – be it an e-commerce or brochure site you really do need an SSL certificate.

What is an SSL certificate?

SSL stands for secure socket layers – you don’t really need to know this – all you need to know is that without one, your customers may not be able to access your website and may receive warnings about it being insecure.

This means they won’t be able to visit your site and you won’t get lovely new customers through your website, which would be sad for your business.

How do I know if I have an SSL certificate?

If you look in the address bar of your website at the top of your screen you will see a little padlock if you have a valid SSL certificate in place.

How do I get an SSL certificate for my website?

If you don’t already have an SSL you should contact your website hosts to ask for one to be installed or contact our team today for help setting one up. In some cases, you may be able to get a free certificate but in other cases, you may need to pay to be issued with one and for it to be installed on your website.
